MFTGUESTDT0311

Friends... I am entering My Favorite Things guest design contest.  The contest is to use die-mentionals. You can use dimension anywhere on your card.  Check out the MFT blog for more details.  I used dimension under the sun which is a die from MFT. I also used dimension under the buttons, again a die from MFT, and under the oval which is from spellbinders.  If you look you can see the shadows from the sun and buttons because they are elevated.  The pattern paper is from My Mind's Eye (stella rose).  The solid scallop die is from SU.  The open scallop die is from MFT.  Lace, some stitching, ribbon and floss help to finish the card.  The happy anniversary is from make the date stamp set by My Favorite Things. Have a great day!! Nancy

A cookie box

Image
Good morning... Today I would like to show you a box that I made for a friend.  This is a papermache box from hobby lobby.  I cut out the paper and used modge podge to give it some durability. The pattern paper for both boxes are from hobby lobby.  To make the flowers I used the die rolled rose from My Favorite things.  I used felt and placed a pearl in each center of the rose.  The leaves are from a stampin up die.  The lower box has lace around the bottom of the cover. The yummy cookies are Andies Candies Mints but they are peppermint flavor.  They are in the isle with the chocolate chips.  The recipe is on the package.  They were sooooo good! Have a super day. Nancy

stampng background

Image
Good morning... I was excited to make this card and post it.  I used the stamp set recipe box from Papertrey. There is a single stamp in there that I used to make this background.  Here you can see I started making individual rows.  I used night of navy ink. When I had them all stamped I brushed the edges with more ink. I then added the orange ribbon. The butterfly die is from Papertrey and the happy birthday stamp is from wreaths for all seasons by Papertrey.  I also brushed the butterflies edges with only orange ink. The final touch is the rhinestones for bling.  Had a lot of fun doing this type of background. I would love to see your finished project when you try this! Have a great Saturday, I am going to start my spring cleaning!! Nancy

A nice thank you

Image
Good morning... Today I used the same pattern paper on both cards from My Minds Eye and Jen Wilson.  The thank you stamp is by SU and the thanks so much is by Verve.  I used Papertrey mat stack one and four.  The stamp I used on top of the mat stack one is from tiny treats christmas also by Papertrey.  Used the Cuttlebug's embossing folder, twine, stitching, buttons and scrunch seam binding. Enjoy your day!!! Nancy

The Notebook

Image
Good morning, See the title, The Notebook, has anyone of you watched that movie?  I thought it was sooo good and sad!  Having Alzheimer's must be extremely hard and painful for the family.  I don't personally know of anyone who has that and I hope not to. But to the people that do, your amazing!!! The notebook that I made is 2 6/8 by 8 1/2. Pattern paper is by The Paper Studio.  Butterfly die is from Papertrey, small and large.  Lace, button and twine.  To keep the notebook closed I applied sticky velcro stripes.  The backside.... I decided to use a variety of pattern paper and wrap them up for gifts.  I put them in a clear bag with a pen and put a pretty tag and bow on them (sorry, I forgot to take the picture with them wrapped). Have a great day! Nancy

Good morning... Card Positioning Systems is celebrating its Fourth Anniversary this week. Everyone is welcome to play along with their sketch. Just go to Card Positioning Systems sketch CPS 205 and have some fun. Today I used the stamps set Friendship is shelter Jolinne by My Favorite Things. Pattern papers are from Basic Grey. Jolinne is all paper pieced except for her hair, face and the rabbit, there I used copics. The tail of the rabbit I used some sticklers and also on the tassel heart. The cloud die is from Papertrey. The white stripe across the bottom is a ribbon and then I added a small strip of paper through the middle. Enjoy your day. Nancy

I used two dies, fresh cut grass and sunshine from My Favorite Things. The cloud die is from Papertrey. Have a good night, Nancy

Sweetie Pie

Image
Hello friends, I received a special package yesterday from My Favorite Things and I couldn't wait to use them. You guessed it!!! The pure innocence line, being cute is what I do best. She is adorable and taller than what I thought. I dressed her in bittersweet papers from Basic Grey. Colored her face and hair with Copics and added pearls for her ponytails. The sky background paper with circles and flowers are from DCWV, the glitter stack. I used the die-namics, Sunshine and fresh cut grass. The memo pin from Tim Holtz is holding a sign that says happy birthday from SU. Behind miss sweetie pie I used the mat stack 3 from Papertrey. The hand dyed scrunched, crinkled, aged seam binding adds the finishing touch. Have a super day! Nancy

Misty waters

GO GREENBAY PACKERS!!!!!! Today is the Superbowl hope everyone is cheering for the PACKERS!!!! I have two cards today. The pattern paper on the first one is actually blue with cream colored dots. I have a stamp from SU called old world map that I stamped over the top and it looks great. I bought some hand dyed scrunched, crinkled, aged seam binding from an Etsy shop, so fun to work with. Around the outside of the card I used lighter thread and straight stitched, Above the happy birthday I accented with a zig-zag. This card was designed for a male and female in mind. The colors of the paper, the stripes, the world map are for the gentleman, and the bow, sewing and buttons are for the lady. A good mix. Next, is a card that reminds me of Door County, which is not to far from my home. The scalloped blue paper reminds me of the water. The large eyelets are like the lifesavers on a boat. Underneath the words happy birthday is the same blue paper I used for the above card

What a wonderful day! I love these days when we are all trapped nice and warm inside by the fire because of a blizzard of a snow storm outside. The wind outside just howling, some places had nothing on the road, others had 8 foot high drifts of snow!! Amazing!    Whenever someone does something nice for you, don't you just love it, and you feel all warm inside. Its a great feeling!!! Doesn't it make you want to do more for everyone else?     I used My minds eye for my pattern paper, MFT the rolled rose die, punches, Papertrey butterfly die, buttons, pearls, memo pin. My new favorite, first time ordering it was.....from Emma's Paperie, white bubble dots vintage crochet trim!!!! It is so adorable I need to order more. It takes my breath away!! Enjoy your day. Nancy
