Transformation Tuesday, December 2018 with Melissa Phillips!

Image
Hey guys, hope you are enjoying the holidays.  It sure is a beautiful time of the year. We don't have much snow right now, but I hope we get more soon. I had sometime to try the Transformation Tuesda y challenge with Melissa Phillips over at Papertrey Ink. She always makes everything look so magical! The card above is my old one.  I didn't do a lot of changes but what I did do was, I changed the background paper and lowered the Christmas greens at the top.  Just doing that made a much more pleasing card to me.  Sometimes I find it hard to choose the right pattern paper.  If anyone has a tip for that, please share with me. Below is my new card. The stamp sets that I used were Holiday Greens Borders and die, Christmas Poinsettia and Traveler's Journal: December stamp set and die and Simply Stitched A2 Verticle die. On the greens and berries I used glitter and Sticklers. I hope you found the second card more pleasing but let me know what you think? Thank

Papertrey Ink Make-it-Monday #316 Stenciled Edges

Image
Good morning and a warm welcome to you all.  Thanks for joining me today and popping in to see my creation for a challenge over at Papertrey Ink. This week Papertrey is have a challenge, it is #316 Stenciled Edges by Lizzie Jones. As you can see I used the Make-it-Market: Garden Gate stencil around the border of my card which draws your eye to my focal point. The Stitched in Time Borders Stamp and Die set is So pretty, I decided to use foam tape to give it dimension.  I embossed the sentiment and the border around it, giving it a raised shine. The butterfly has lot of glitter and in the sweetness of the card I put pearls, forget me knot flowers, sequins, tulle and twine for added interest. Have a sweet day! Nancy

March 2018 Blog Hop Inspiration from Papertrey Ink!

Image
Today is the 25th of March and it is Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop . Today we get to see a lot of inspiration from some amazing papercrafts.  The inspirational photo above is beautiful and who wouldn't love to have this on there table for Easter or anytime! My inspiration from this picture is from the beautiful soft colors in the yellow color family going to yellow orange and yellow greens and a little splash of the pinks. I did color blending using the Quatrefoil stencil.  After color blending the love sentiment using Tag Sale 12, I used foam tape to give it some dimension. This is a special card I gave to my husband for our 31st Anniversary, which was on March 21st. Enjoy the hop, hop, hop:)! Nancy

Embossing enamel splatters #315 Make-it-Monday, Papertrey Ink

Image
Happy Saturday to you all!  I am getting a little excited about spring coming, although I don't want it to go by too fast because I want to get a little more done in the house before heading out to my gardens. But no matter what the weather, its always a welcome if the sun is out:)! I had a little time this morning to watch Melissa Phillips video on how to do Embossing Enamel Splatters.  This challenge is this weeks Papertrey Inks, Make-it-Monday #315 .  I had a chance to use the balloon stencil with a variety of different inks. I sprinkled on the embossing enamel on each balloon and used the heat gun to melt the enamel from underneath each balloon.  The embossing enamel really bubbled up.  The sentiment is embossed and also raised up with foam tape. The finishing touch I used a few clear sequins. Celebrate each day:) Nancy

make it Monday # 312 Framing Sentiments & Images, hosted by Laurie Schmidlin.

Image
Hello, I have made a few cards for Make it Monday #312 framing sentiments and images.   Laurie Schmidlin is the host for this week and I really enjoyed her video.  The card above I created the frame using noted scallop A2 die.  The sentiment is from mini blooms also using brushed birds and beautiful berries: spring.  I did pop up the frame using foam tape. On this card and the next one I used the pattern paper in two different places, as the outside of the frame and the inside of the frame.  I would like your opinion on which way is more pleasing to your eye, the first card or the second?  On both of the cards I used the new huggables: chick stamp set and die and the easter grass die.  The frame is made using the noted A2 scallop die. The chick huggable was such a joy to use. Below is both cards together, thinking maybe this is easier to chose from. and all three together... I appreciate all of your opinions. Have a great day!
