The pink poinsettia

Image
Hello everyone, Today's card I used the stamp set called Christmas Poinsettia and Bells and Boughs from Papertrey Inc.  To make this card extra special I covered everything except the large poinsettia, so I could spray the poinsettia with adhesive and then added a lot of glitter, it is so pretty close up. Well I need to go and get some Christmas things done, boy time really goes by fast in December!  I hope everyone is enjoying all the holiday excitement ;-). Have a great day! Nancy

Sparkly poinsettia

Image
Good morning, It is time for make it Monday over at Papertrey Inc.   Our host today was Dawn McVey #43 ribbon pleating.  I used the stamp set Christmas Poinsettia by Papertrey.  I started with the leaf stamp and went around the outside of the card using old olive ink and stamping off every other one.  In the middle I stamped the poinsettia using real red and cranberry crisp ink.   Here is a close up pleating the red ribbon. At the end I finished up adding pearls, using smooches spritzer and topping it with glitter. Have a great day! Nancy

Celebrate today

Hello everyone!! Over at Freshly Made Sketches they have a challenge going on.  Sketch #11, hostess is Linda C.  Check out all the fun!  This afternoon it has been dark and rainy, although it is a nice day to stamp.  The stamp sets that I used are from Papertrey, friendship jar and background basic text style.  Designer paper is My Mind's Eye and Pretty Please.  I hand cut out the jar topper and paper pieced the tag.  Did some decorative stitching and on the marina mist cardstock I brushed the edges to make the paper darker, with the same ink.  Then I finished the card by adding a button and some twine.  Thanks Linda for a great sketch! Have a wonderful night! Nancy

From our house to yours!

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good morning.  I did another card for the Make it Monday #41, tips for the essential glue challenge from Papertrey Inc.  I used the essential glue pad for the front red door and the green curtains, applying glitter.  The stamps sets are home made and love lives here holiday.  Here is a close-up of the window.  If you click on the pictures, then you can really see the detail. I also added a pearl in each window, and used the Martha Stewart punch for the greens and some red bling.  I sure do appreciate all your lovely comments.  Thank you! Nancy

Christmas 2011

Good morning everyone, Today's technique is using the essential glue pad.  Papertrey has a make it Monday #41 challenge, tips for the essential glue pad hosted by Jenn.  I started with the tag die #2 and stamped that with turning a new leaf in old olive ink.  Using the essential glue pad stamping over the image and covering it with glitter.  The berry stamp came from wreath for all seasons, also glittered.  Other stamps used were love lives here holiday, Papertrey and make the date from MFT. I dyed my own seam binding using antique linen, distress ink.  In the middle of the button I placed a pearl.  The designer papers were bought at Hobby Lobby.  Have a nice day! Nancy

MIM #39 again

Image
I started making this card for a different challenge, but changed my mind to make one more Make-it-Monday card for Papertrey.  I decided to take two photos.  The top photo the card is sitting on top of our piano and in the reflection you can see that I embossed the polka dots.  Yes, I made my background using the Polka dots basic background stamp and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  Other stamps and dies that I used were tiny treats Christmas stamp set, the tree and tiny tags die.  Buttons, glitter, hat pin, seam binding, lace, rhinestone, string and the DP paper is My Mind's eye. Have a wonderful Thursday. Nancy

MIM #39

Image
This is my second Make it Monday card.  Multi-stamp background building with Papertrey Inc.  This time I used the stamp set Love Lives Here Holiday.  The inks that I used for the mittens is marina mist, the cap of the mitten night of navy, the large star certainly celery, small star more mustard and the heart real red.  And YES the white background for taking pictures is a lot better than yesterday's MIM red background.  What was I thinking! Have a lovely Tuesday! Nancy

Good tidings

Image
Good morning, A new Make it Monday #39 for Papertrey Inc.  Multi-stamp background building, hostess was the lovely Nichole.  I used a piece of white paper and taped off the bottom portion for a snow hill.  Next I used my the stamp set In the meadow.  Took out the largest snowflake and stamped that in brocade blue, #2 snowflake was stamped in night of navy, #3 snowflake was tempting turquoise and then the snow flurr was marina mist.  Then I used my night of navy and feathered the edges, also putting glitter on the largest snowflakes.  I removed the extra white paper for the snow hill.  I used the die for the boy that was sledding stamped him in night of navy and then I cut off his scarf(that was hard to do) and added some red bakers twine.  Added the sentiment and red birds. Have a nice Monday! Nancy

In the meadow

Image
I received my new stamps in the mail from Papertrey.  The stamp set is called In the Meadow and I also purchased the dies to go with it. This stamp set, because of what the stamps are, like the deer, the snowman and the sleigh, that tells you what you can do with them.  They are going to be in a snow scene.  There are lots of possibilities on what you can do, but my first impression was a snow theme.  I  think that made things easier and faster putting these cards together, which I like. Have a nice night. Nancy

MIM #38

Image
Today I did the Make it Monday #38 Brayer and Impression Plate techniques by Papertrey Inc.  The hostess was Betsy Veldman.  I started out using the spider web embossing folder on white card stock.  After I embossed my paper I took my brayer and rolled on more mustard ink.  That colored rolled over onto white card stock really popped the white spider web.  I used the die and stamp set turning a new leaf and randomly placed them.  The friendship stamp set and die is so cool!!  I even used my brayer to roll on the lavender lace and certainly celery ink on the stamp to make the liquid in the jar. As you can see in the upper and lower cards. The spiders and ghosts are are glittered.  The top of the jar received some googly eyes and the top of the jar some bakers twine.  As you can see I really enjoyed doing this technique and made five cards to send away for Halloween.  Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween. Nancy

Happy homes.

Good morning, Once again I used Papertrey products, love lives here, background stamps - music, words, polka dots, turning a new leaf and the dies.  Buttons, lace, sewing and twine.  I also gave the houses dimension by die cutting cereal boxes with the love lives here house die set.  Have a great day. Nancy

Warm and Cozy

Image
Good morning, Is everyone thinking about all the new products that Papertrey is going to be releasing on the 15th?  I know I am.  The countdown is so exciting, I actually think it is one of the best parts.  With all the rain that is in our forecast it has got me thinking about dressing warmer and dressing warmer means more fabric and buttons. So on to my card. I started out sewing a crisscross pattern on fabric squares cut by using the die from button boutique.  Then using the stamp set button boutique on top.  When adding the buttons I layered them with cardboard underneath to give it some dimension.  The crisscross sewing on the fabric took some time, but it is worth it when it's done.  It has a warm cozy feeling.  Have a great day. Nancy

Dress form with wings.

Image
Today's card I used the dress form die, love lives here holiday die, boutique button stamp set, tiny tags die, music background stamp set all from Papertrey.  On the dress form die I used plaid material on top with some added pearls.  Seam binding, lace, button, string and some stitching.  Have a good night. Nancy

The Christmas Sisters

Image
Papertrey is having their Make it Monday #34 chipboard accents challenge.  Erin Lincoln was the lovely host.  I started with Graphic 45 designer paper and always artichoke.  The tree, both snowflakes are a die from Papertrey.  I stamped the large snowflake using background basics text style and love lives here holiday.  As I was layering the snowflakes I gently brushed on close to cocoa ink, also brushing it over the top of the christmas tree and the papers underneath.  On the top of the snowflake I used pearls and a button.  I highlighted the tree with glitter around the edges.  The seam binding bow is highlighted with close to cocoa ink and I added a decorative pin.   Here you can see that I used six layers of cereal boxes with the tree die cut from Papertrey.  Spraying each layer with adhesive. I decided to take a few pictures in different lighting.  The top picture is with a light bulb, the next two is in the sunlight.  Have a great day. Nancy

Sweet girl

Image
Good morning, today's card uses a rubber stamp from Door County.  Isn't this girl just adorable?  On the first card is the whole image of the stamp.  I paper pieced her dress and the ornaments, colored with copics.  Merry Christmas saying is from Papertrey. This card I cut the girl out and paper pieced her dress and the ornaments.  The tree is a die from Papertrey and it is embossed with an embossing folder from SU.  The designer paper is Graphic 45.  Colored her with copics, added lace and twine.  The star is a die from MFT and I added glitter. Enjoy your day. Nancy

OCL83 Color Challenge

Image
Hello again, this is my second post for the day.  Our Craft Lounge is having a color challenge - OCL83.  The colors are browns, yellows and oranges.  The ribbon flowers are a creamy yellow color I know the picture doesn't show it very well.  Designer paper is My mind's eye also using chocolate chip and cajun craze. Stamp set is by Inkadinkado and SU.  The gemstone brad is from Spare Parts, the jute ribbon and ribbon flowers are Walmart (surprise, surprise good old Walmart).  Thanks for looking.  Have a great day. Nancy

Remember

Image
Well, good morning!! Papertrey has a  Make it Monday challenge #33 frosted  images.  Hope you can play along.  This challenge was to stamp the image with colored ink and then quickly stamp the same image with white ink.  Take your finger before it dries and smear or blend the inks together to get a foggy effect.  Messy but a lot of fun.  I used Papertrey's harvest berries stamp set and Mat stack #4 die.  Also the buttons are from Papertrey and a little bow made with twine.  My package of new Papertrey goodies should be arriving today or tomorrow and I can't wait!!!!!  Have a great day. Nancy

You are a treasure.

Our Creative Corner's challenge this week is Not Big on Pink - lots of blue with a touch of pink, texture and a metal piece.  I started with Recollections, blue pinstripe designer paper the DP on top I am not sure of the name.  Added lace and stitched across the top.  I used fillable frames #10 die and stamp set from Papertrey.  A blue glittery metal brad, a metal flower from SU and a snowflake die from Papertrey.  The saying on the card is also from Papertrey, the signature series dress form stamp set.  This is my first time doing the challenge for Our Creative Corner. Have a great day! Nancy

101 days until Christmas

Image
I am still in the Christmas spirit.  Especially since the weather has been chilly and the frost has come.  On my card I started with recollections designer paper and old olive card stock by sewing around the card and zig-zaging across the lace. The Christmas tree is a die from Papertrey which I used the houndstooth stamp set inked with cranberry crisp and old olive. To add some sparkle I sprayed adhesive and sprinkled on Sulyn glitter and added the creamy vanilla bow.  Have a great day, I am starting my 4th batch of homemade salsa, for those long winter nights. It is just to die for, yum! Nancy

Christmas is near.

Image
After watching the Papertrey countdown I am excited to start my Christmas cards.  Although this first card is not really Christmas, it has the right colors.  I used  Papertrey's harvest berries stamp set.  SU's close to cocoa ink and I hand rubbed the edges of the mat stack #4 die.  Using different circle punches I created the flower using cranberry crisp card stock and a gemstone brad.  The felt leaves are from SU.  I cut 3 pieces of lace and laid them accordingly and stitched across them adding buttons, twine and a pearl.  K & Company gets the credit for this beautiful designer paper, also using cranberry crisp, old olive and very vanilla.  Next, is more of a Christmas card, again using a lot of Papertrey products.  First I die cut the mat stack #4, and  centered the fillable frames #10 die inside the mat stack #4 and die cut that.  Then in the opening I used night of navy card stock and polka dots embossing folder and positioned it behind adding on top a 3 layer snowfl

The joy in the change of seasons.

I love fall, all the wonderful colors, the cooler weather, the time for homemade soups, bringing in all the garden vegetables, decorating, it just warms me up with excitement.  This weekend I decided to start my fall decorating on my front porch.  I found the sweetest sunflower and wooden pumpkin from Hobby Lobby.   I went out to the fence line and found some wonderful grapevines.  I put some hooks on the ceiling of the porch and hung the grapevines, orange and purple lights and some fall leaves.  When it gets closer to Halloween I will add other goodies.  Have a terrific weekend, I will be back soon. Nancy
